We are dedicated to supporting parents, the first and most important teacher, through every step of the parent-child relationship. Whether your little one is learning their first steps or you are looking to better connect with your teenager using family counseling, we are here for you and our programs are free.

Programs for Parents

The Children’s Cabinet does not discriminate in the delivery of services or benefits based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

All families, regardless of income or location, should have access to quality child care, and The Children’s Cabinet provides these resources.

The Children’s Cabinet is proud to connect parents with child care providers. 

Family counseling is an important service for families struggling with a variety of fears and concerns. 

The families in our program can have access to CC Market five days a week, Monday through Friday.

Community Health Workers (CHWs) will serve as liaisons between the community and health and social service providers to better support Nevada families in Las Vegas and Reno.

Family Leadership Council is here to ensure parents and families of young children have both leadership and decision-making roles in early childhood system.

All the services and programs offered to families by The Children’s Cabinet are offered free of charge.

There are many ways to do so! You can learn more throughout our website depending on what services you are looking for. Or you can call our main number at 775-856-6200 to be connected with the proper department.

Finding the best child care for you and your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. It certainly can! Our free family counseling offers your family the tools to improve communication while coping with difficulties as they arise. Our no-cost model allows families to get the help and support they need, even if they can’t afford it. Read more about Family Counseling.
We offer a variety of programs to help families who are worried about a child. Wraparound services help families identify the right resources to address concerns. Our family counseling can offer you the tools to improve your communication and identify unmet mental health needs for your child, and our Youth Mental Health First Aid courses provide adults with the tools to help youth struggling with depression, addiction, and crises. Lastly, we offer Safe Place, which is a free resource for youth looking for a safe place to go. We have a variety of locations in the area that can be found here.
It is important to stay involved with your medical provider to ensure your child is reaching crucial milestones. The Children’s Cabinet offers many programs for teenagers including Redfield Academy for those struggling to graduate, Washoe YouthBuild for those looking for direction and to learn new skills, and Safe Place, a program that provides support for youths in crisis. Wraparound services help families identify the right resources to address concerns and provide a mentoring relationship with a case manager. Wraparound support, also known as Case Management, is offered to every child and family that gets assistance from The Children’s Cabinet. Case Managers work with parents and youth to identify unmet needs and concerns from family interactions, to school issues, to financial stability and other areas of family wellness. The case manager then helps the family develop a plan to access resources, change behavior, and achieve goals.
