In this conference we will explore an overview of Mind in the Making:
Executive Functions– Executive functions are essential skills that are managed by the pre-frontal cortex in the brain and form the basis for emotional and cognitive learning.
Focus and Self-Control-In a world full of distractions and info overload children need to be able to focus, which involves paying attention, remember the rules, think flexibly, and exercise self-control.
Perspective Taking– Perspective is important for school and life and it goes way beyond empathy. It involves understanding how others think and feel so we can get along, communicate, work in groups and avoid unnecessary conflict.
Communicating-Communicating is much more than language, speaking, reading, and writing–it is the skill of determining what we want to say, and how it will be interpreted by others.
Nevada Registry 6.0 hours.
