In this module, we will be going over the developing brain and how it is affected by children’s experiences and interactions with the important people in their lives. Providers play a critical role in supporting young children’s social-emotional development. Brain connections are experience dependent; early experiences last a lifetime.
Training Objectives:
1.Understand how social-emotional development unfolds in the first five years, and how to support it in young children
2.Identify areas of the brain involved in social interactions and emotional reactions.
3.Understand the role of attachment in social-emotional development and the role of stress.
