Training for Early Care and Education Professionals
Instructor: Emily Kirshenbaum
Nevada Registry Approved: 2.0 hours
CKA: Positive Interaction and Guidance
Learning outcomes:
1.)Teachers have the power to guide children to express big emotions positively.
2.)Participants will engage in hands-on activities that address behavior management through movement, story-telling, and creative expression.
3.)Activities can be adjusted to fit the language and developmental needs of all children in care.
Participants will use children’s books to connect words to feelings. They will use their bodies to express feelings through movement. Teachers will create a puppet story, as a group, that delves into the world of feelings. Finally, teachers will engage in a shared, emotions exploration, and creative expression experience.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
