The behavior of a child can impact the day in any classroom. As early educators we must determine what these unwanted behaviors mean. Based on Pyramid Model principles, this training focuses on understanding the communicative message behind behaviors and how to implement a plan for support.

Training Objectives:

1 . Learners will define the form and function of children’s behavior in order to understand the meaning behind the behavior.

2 . Learners will evaluate a child’s behavior to determine if it is beyond developmentally appropriate behaviors that simply require some skill building.

3 . Learners will use sample tools to implement the intensive intervention process.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
