Children need the life skill of focus and self-control to achieve their goals, especially with so many distractions. It involves paying attention, remembering rules, thinking flexibly and self control. As professionals we can help by learning the science behind this life skill, and strategies to promote it.

Training Objectives:

1 . The participant will understand the importance of focus and self-control in children’s lives.

2 . The participant will understand the science behind focus and self-control and executive function.

3 . The participant will learn strategies and games that promote this life skill in children.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
