This learning event will define autism and review the spectrum of characteristics common is autism spectrum disorder. Learners will gain knowledge of supportive techniques that foster connection and developmental growth for diverse learning profiles. Participants will be introduced to supportive sensory considerations through videos and discussion.
Training Objectives:
1 . By the end of this session, learners will be able to define autism and its prevalence.
2 . By the end of this session, learners will indicate supportive techniques that foster connection and developmental growth for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
3 . By the end of this session, learners will demonstrate how sensory influences may impact children during daily routines.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience.
