We will discover how play builds children’s capacities in all areas of their development. Children benefit from free play and guided play. By supporting children’s play you are allowing ideas and strategies important in critical thinking and creative innovation.

Training Objectives:

1 . By the end of this session, participants will summarize why educators focus on play.

2 . By the end of this session, participants will describe the difference between free play and guided play.

3 . By the end of this session, participants will identify core skills children learn play and how to promote these skills.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
