Description: Children need the Life Skill of Focus and Self Control in order to achieve their goals, especially in a world that is filled with distractions and information overload. This module includes insightful exercises and research to help us see ways to build the skill of Focus and Self Control.
Training Objectives:
1.Understand that the Life Skill of Focus & Self Control is a goal-driven skill, calling on Executive Functions
2.Recognize that the Life Skill of Focus and Self Control originates in infancy and children develop the skill through being active
3.Learn to promote the Life Skill of Focus & Self Control in young children by watching how they manage their responses to too much stimulation and use these strategies to help children bring themselves
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
