Communicating is the life skill of determining what we want to communicate and how we will be understood by others. Children are primed to communicate from birth. Join us to learn everyday ways to promote Communicating and help prepare children for school, friends, and life.
Training Objectives:
1. Understand that the Life Skill of Communicating calls on Executive Functions and involves self-control.
2. Recognize that infants are born primed to communicate, but that there are also ways in which parents and providers can promote the development of this skill.
3. Turn challenging communication moments with children into learning opportunities for the child’s development of their communication skills.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
