NAEYC and DAP: Observing, Documenting, & Assessing Children’s Development

CKA:  Observation and Assessment

Participants will learn to promote and implement NAEYC’s developmental appropriate practices through observation, documentation, and assessment. We will discuss what NAEYC is and how these practices will enhance their observation, documentations, and assessments within their classroom environments. We will discuss how assessments should be focused on children’s progress toward developmental and educational goals. Also, we will go over how to recognize individual’s variation of learning and allow children to demonstrate their competencies in different ways. Lastly, we will review the importance of the continuation and follow-ups of these are truly just as important.
