Afterschool programs often serve youth ages 5 to 14. It is important for the program staff to recognize the different ages and stages youth experiences as they mature and reflect on how these affect afterschool programming.

Training Objectives:

1. To understand how children develop.

2. To better select age-appropriate curriculum

3. How ages and stages set the tone for afterschool programing.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
