Recognizing the different ages and stages of youth and applying this to science, engineering, and technology (SET) programming is critical to achieving desired youth outcomes. In this session, staff will review developmental stages of youth and learn how to do SET with mixed-age groups.
Training Objectives:
1. Participants will understand, differentiate, and incorporate age-appropriate practice as it relates to SET experiences in afterschool settings.
2. Participants will be able to process and apply age-appropriate practices and science standards in planning and conducting SET learning.
3. Participants will to understand how to use Science Content Standards to plan age-appropriate practices.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience.
