This session provides an overview of Nevada’s State Policy on Early Childhood Expulsion and Suspension. We will review how the QRIS and Pyramid Model Programs align to support providers in finding strategies to decrease challenging behaviors in the classroom and to reduce exclusionary practices for our young children.
Training Objectives:
1 . Identify QRIS and Pyramid Model Programs and how they each can support a center.
2 . Define suspension, expulsion and other exclusionary practices.
3 . Apply knowledge of form and function of behavior to prevent exclusionary practices.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
