Youth Mental Health First Aid presented by the Children’s Cabinet
This is an 8-hour training with blended instruction. Participants first must complete an approximately two hour self-paced module prior to attending the six hour Instructor Led Session (ILS). Successful completion of both parts of the blended training are required in order to complete this training.
After registration, further information on how to complete the self-paced portion of the training will be sent. If you are within 3-4 weeks of the training date, it should arrive via email generally within 72 hours of registration. If the training date is further out, you will be contacted when we get closer to the date.
Please be aware the YMHFA training will cover various topics of a sensitive nature, including depression/anxiety, substance use, psychosis, suicide prevention, or other topics that may potentially be distressing for some. However, YMHFA program emphasizes recovery and resiliency and aims to teach participants how to provide assistance for youth experiencing a mental health challenge.
