Safe Place Begins

In 2003, The Children's Cabinet introduced Project Safe Place to Northern Nevada, creating an 800 number and a network of walk-up sites where runaway, homeless, and endangered youth can turn for help.

2008
10th Annual Art of Childhood

The Children's Cabinet celebrated its 10th Annual Art of Childhood Fundraiser on September 18th, 2008.

2010
Wilbur D. May Youth Center

The Children's Cabinet's Family Youth and Intervention Department officially moves into the Wilbur D. May Youth Center on Sinclair Street in Reno. This new location would go on to provide services for teenagers and their parents (including our onsite high school, a food pantry, and family counseling) all under one roof.

Expansion to Las Vegas

To meet the increasing need for The Children's Cabinet's services throughout the state, our Las Vegas office opened in 2010 to expand services to children and families in southern Nevada.

11,000+ Families Served

The Children's Cabinet reached a record 11,000+ families served in 2010.
